Hospital Seeks Radiation Oncologist to Join Multi-Specialty Group in Northeast Pennsylvania!!

Hospital is seeking a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join hospital-affiliated group.

It is an independent multi-specialty group located in Northeast Pennsylvania, that includes surgeons (general, breast, vascular, and colon and rectal), urologists, otolaryngologists, pulmonologists, and radiation oncologists. In addition, we have a Breast Care Center, Imaging Services, Pathology and the Center for Comprehensive Cancer Care. Group provides multidisciplinary oncology care in a community setting.

As partners with the Group, the Radiation Oncologists play a vital role in the Practice’s Center for Comprehensive Cancer Care. We are looking for individuals who can lead our Center and direct regional oncology care in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The potential for this Center is limitless. We are very committed to growing our Center in all aspects of care by employing the most up to date technology, expanding our patient navigation program, developing complementary services and participation in research protocols.
Hospital is Northeastern Pennsylvania’s largest community hospital, with over 400 beds and a medical staff of more than 400 physicians representing nearly 50 medical and surgical specialties. It has long been recognized for excellence in heart and vascular care, and an emergency department that treats nearly 70,000 patients a year.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area is in the top 50 TV markets within the US. While maintaining the small community feel that makes it a great place to raise a family, there are over 1m people in a 50-mile radius of Wilkes-Barre. The area is only a short drive, two hours, from New York City and Philadelphia and just slightly further to the NJ and Delaware shores.

The area is also strengthened by quality institutions of higher education including the University of Scranton, routinely ranked in the U.S. News and World Report top 10 Universities in the NE U.S. issuing Master’s Degrees while King College, Wilkes University, Misericordia University, Penn State (satellite campuses), Marywood and many other quality public and private college and Universities are located here. The area also has a Medical College in Scranton (TCMC) with teaching opportunities to physicians that are interested in joining their faculty. Quality education, from preschool through graduate school, is one of the region’s top priorities.
