Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
A hospital in the southern California border area is in need of ongoing diagnostic radiologist coverage for 18 weeks per year. The schedule is Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, no call, and no weekends. This is a team environment and the radiologist will read a mix of cat scan, ultrasound, MR and mammography would be preferred. The radiologist will also perform light interventional work consisting of stereotactic and ultrasound guided breast biopsies, liver and lung biopsies, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. The radiologist either needs to be able to either read mammography OR perform interventional procedures, they do not have to do both.
Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
