Job Description

Last Update: 6/13/19
■ Psychiatry This is a new position for General Adult or Child Psychiatry that is needed at Hospital in, NV. There is one psychiatrist in town now so it is a wide open market. The hospital is contracting with a third party to manage our psyche unit and provide support services. Call will be provided by telemedicine via a HIPPA encrypted secure web video from the third party. This is a private practice opportunity with a cash collections guarantee from the hospital with support services. Could possibly be an employed situation for the right candidate. We have a 16 bed inpatient acute unit for ages 18 + Our study shows that we anticipate an average daily census of conservatively 6-10 in year one. Candidate will have an inpatient medical director role and stipend. Candidate will work closely with the program director to manage the IP unit. Must have a mindset to build a practice. Candidate can set up their own outpatient program at their own office. There is call
being provided 24/7 by telemedicine. Compensation at MGMA median - $220,000 range. Relocation allowance. Residents or experienced candidates are acceptable as are B/E or B/C. Foreign Med Grads
and Visa Grads can be considered but they MUST have excellent communication skills to be considered. This is a new permanent position, not locums. The provider is not required to perform physicals and
histories as we have Internal Med coverage for medical needs that rounds daily on inpatients. Medical clearance is completed per ED physicians for those admits entering through the ED. The average length of stay for inpatients is 5-7 days, dependent upon age. This unit is mixed Geri and Young Adults, so budgeted LOS for Geri is 9-10 days with Young Adults being 5 days. At this time, we are only taking Voluntary Patients, but plan on taking Non-voluntary in the near-future. The doctor is not required to do follow-ups with the patients however a permanent psychiatrist would cover both our Outpatient clinic and our Inpatient Unit. We would prefer the Psychiatrist do the Outpatient follow-ups of our post-inpatients. This would not be mandatory. Right now we do not use ECT but in the future possibly, once all else is stabilized. Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU). Initial evaluations – 60 minutes and Med Checks—15 minutes.
