Emergency Dept Physician Opportunity
• Residency Trained/Board Certified/Board Eligible in ER Medicine or FP with ER experience
ABEM or ABIM accepted
• Employed physician with full benefits including competitive hourly salary. Sign on bonus, loan repayment, stipends for residents and moving expenses all available
• Pay incentives based on productivity, patient satisfaction, and core measures
• 28,000 patient visits/year
• 21 bed ED, Level 3 Trauma Center
• Joining 5 other physicians. All physicians are residence trained and board certified in family practice and emergency medicine (no physician extenders)
• Admission orders are written by ER physician, patients physician, or the hospitalist.
• 20% of ED visits become admissions
• Anesthesia, 24 hour availability, MD, CRNA in house (MD supervises)
• Work schedule: 8 and 12 hour shifts 34 man hours of ER coverage/day
• Double coverage 1p-11p with overlap if busy Weekend and holiday double coverage noon-11p with overlap if busy
• ER staff responds to house codes
No patient boarding.

Base Rate will be $180/hour
Bonus # 1: RVU- $1 per RVU (as defined by CMS), and to be recalculated yearly, up or down, based on the conversion factor determined by CMS and published each November.

Bonus # 2: Press Ganey Score- Each physician will have a PG score each quarter. The baseline score is 83.4. Each physician who exceeds this baseline score will be eligible for pool money ($12,000) If the entire ER PG score improves 1 point, the pool rises 10%, 2 points rises 20% up to a maximum of 50% each quarter ($14,400)

Bonus # 3: Core Measures PQRI- St. Luke’s will place $3,000 in this pool quarterly to be shared by ER physicians exceeding 90% compliance with these core measures.

Bonus # 4: Individual Press Ganey Score- If an individual physician’s PG score equals 90 or greater for a calendar quarter, the physician shall receive a bonus of $2,000 for each such quarter.
This plan will be reviewed annually.
Base pay can be altered up to 3% yearly, based on a yearly performance review by the ER Medical Director and VPMA, where clinical excellence, productivity, participation in Emergency Department meetings, and other Medical Staff affairs, leadership, team-building, patient satisfaction, compliance with core measures, and other attributes will be reviewed.
Between base salary, CME, and RVU, the average ER physician will derive approximately $285-300K year.
