Physicians Immediate Care, also known as Physicians Urgent Care, is a Midwest leader in urgent care and occupational health services with over 40 locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

The Lead Physician supports the Organization by providing accessible support including medical direction and clinical quality review for the Providers, Multi-Site Managers, Regional Operational Directors, and Sales Executives in their assigned clinics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • This position is responsible for the overall medical care and the medical patient experience within the assigned clinics by providing and modeling both remarkable clinical care and outstanding patient experiences
  • Support the mission, values, and initiatives of the Company
  • Actively encourage and support Regional Operational Directors (ROD’s) and Multi-Site Managers (MSM’s) and Providers through direct interaction including organizing as well telephonic and electronic support
  • Ensure that provider staffing levels support the quality standards of the Company
  • Represent Physicians Immediate Care to corporate customers and support the Occupational Medicine Program including plant tours and fielding client phone calls
  • Represent Physicians Immediate Care to our Health System Partners
  • Case consults
  • Investigate patient complaints and service deficiencies and provide positive solutions to what is being investigated
  • Assists the Workforce Planning team in finding provider coverage for the clinics on short notice and may need to personally provide coverage at times for call-offs and unforeseen provider absences
  • Support the high quality robust medical care model through
    1. Chart reviews
    2. Case consults
    3. X-ray over reads
    4. EKG over reads
  • Mentor and review Advanced Practice Providers
    1. Direct supervision of APP staff
    2. Counsel and encourage providers to perform at Physicians Immediate Care’s standards
    3. Chart reviews on new providers and providers under review
    4. Receive, access, and manage provider concerns
    5. Maintain a regular clinical presence at assigned clinics including specific hours per week on the floor, working alongside their providers
    6. Being available by phone to answer calls 24/7 except when on PTO
    7. Along with the Senior Medical Director lead the on-boarding of new provider staff and perform a 90-day evaluation on all new providers per given region
  • Provide expertise
    1. Assist the Senior Medical Director assessing new services and establishing medical standards
    2. Assist in the development and promotion of talented staff through regular feedback to staff and annual evaluations
    3. Interview all final provider candidates for their clinics and assess their fit and medical knowledge
    4. Available to provide input and observations to corporate executives
    5. Lead or assist in special projects as needed

A few formalities we need from our candidates:

  • Education/Experience Requirements:

    1. MD or DO degree with board certification (any provider hired prior to 1/1/2014 is considered grandfathered and is exempt from meeting the board certification requirements)
    2. Active medical and DEA license with no restrictions for the region in which they practice
    3. 5+ years of clinical experience in ER or Urgent Care setting preferred
    4. Strong occupational medicine background
    5. Strong leadership skills
    6. Previous management experience of providers highly preferred
