An urgent care facility located in a large Tennessee city is seeking a physician for locum tenens coverage.
Shift times are 7:30 AM 7/8 PM and there are no call requirements.
BLS/ACLS are required and PALS is optional. The providers must be willing to see children 6 months and older. Most of the clinics are staffed with a single provider each day. Most common diagnosis relates to various respiratory tract infections such as URI, ear infections, pharyngitis, strep throat, bronchitis and pneumonia. The facility also does simple procedures like laceration repair and incision and drainage of abscesses. They take care of most injuries including work related injuries. They do employer services such as pre-employment physicals. If something comes in beyond the scope of urgent care they can either refer them to a specialist or the emergency room, depending on the acuity.
