Trauma Surgeon Job in Southeastern Pennsylvania

» Permanent position - will share call on nights, weekends and holidays. Exact schedule TBD
» Active Pennsylvania license required
» Board Certified, Fellowship trained General and Critical Care Surgeon.
» Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS and Pennsylvania DEA required.
» Typical Shift: 156 hours per month, 13-12-hours shifts per month.
» Level II Trauma hospital.
» Will respond to all level I and level II alerts, and trauma consults through the Emergency Department.
» Average daily census of 12 patients per in-house shift. Trauma surgeons are also responsible for in-house patients including ICU (about 6-12 patients per day).
» Local candidates preferred at this time with familiarity of PTSF (Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation)
» Need Level I or II trauma experience and need to be experienced with chest tube insertion, central line insertion, PA catheter placement and ventilation management.
» Trauma Physician Assistant works 7AM-11PM.
» Will cover as solo Trauma Surgeon. Beeper call 6AM-6PM, but the typical shift is 12-hours in house call, and would only be called when not in-house for unforeseen situations.
