We are seeking enthusiastic BC/BE Trauma Surgeon who has great clinical and interpersonal skills to join our team in beautiful Allentown, PA. This full time position includes trauma, critical care, emergency and elective general surgery.

Practice Overview:

The Trauma/Critical Care Surgery team at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest manages a 14-bed Trauma/Neurosurgical ICU, a 28-bed trauma step down unit, and co-manages a 33-bed Medical-Surgical ICU at. The Division has a significant academic component which includes overseeing a RRC-approved Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, participating in clinical research, and daily teaching of surgical residents and medical students. Faculty appointments are available through the University of South Florida, College of Medicine, LVHN’s academic partner.

The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery serves an eight county area in Eastern Pennsylvania with a population of over two million. LVHN’s Level 1 Adult and Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Centers are located at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest campus in Allentown, Pennsylvania. LVH-Cedar Crest is a 988-bed teaching hospital and was the first designated Level I trauma program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is one of the busiest trauma centers in Pennsylvania, performing over 5000 trauma evaluations per year that result in over 4000 annual trauma admissions. The Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Program is supported by three pediatric surgeons at the integrated LVHN Reilly Children’s Hospital. LVHN has four air ambulances, three trauma resuscitation bays and a dedicated trauma operating room. The Trauma System at LVHN also includes a Level 3 Trauma Program at LVH-Pocono in East Stroudsburg and a Level 4 Trauma Center at LVH-Hazelton in Hazelton.

Job Qualifications:

  • A network champion for Trauma, Acute and Critical Care Surgery
  • Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified with American Board of Surgery in Surgical Critical Care
  • A current PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
