We are currently seeking a BC Trauma Surgeon to join a well-respected and established trauma center as Trauma Medical Director. Our client is currently applying for Level II Trauma Status. The hospital would become the only Trauma Center in southern Illinois, and this will allow the facility to retain major trauma patients and be able to accept transfers from other hospitals in the region.

Details:
• Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency
• American Board certified
• Licensed to practice medicine with no restrictions; IL and MO license preferred
• Develop and implement the policies, procedures and practice guidelines pertaining to trauma patients.
• Collaborate and assist with oversight of compliance with policies, procedures and standards
• Assist in the assessment and recruitment of potential faculty and key hospital staff members
• Manage and direct the operations of the Trauma cost centers in accordance with standard hospital practices.
• Provide input regarding surveillance of performance and other aspects of clinical practice activities, to assist with privileging, credentialing, and peer review activities.
• Chair the Peer Quality Committee.
• Develop and monitor trauma on call schedules in PerfectServe.
• Oversee performance review, injury prevention and community outreach.
• Coordinate trauma education for the Trauma team.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
• Actively participate on system wide or hospital based teams as needed.
