Trauma Surgery

Seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon to join a dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team in Jacksonville suburbs. Hospital is a Florida Department of Health Level II trauma center and is pursuing Level II verification by the American College of Surgeons.

Fulltime role with 14 shifts per month: 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up (rarely called in)

  • The acute care surgery team has six advanced practice professionals, with 24-hour APP coverage
  • General surgery and emergency medicine residents rotate on the service
  • The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives
  • 2,000+ trauma patients in 2021
  • Covers all general surgery call for the hospital

Qualified Candidates:

  • Board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care
  • Have, or be able to obtain, an unrestricted license to practice in Florida - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms or conditions
  • No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction
  • Have current, unrestricted DEA registration
