Southwest Jacksonville is seeking a BC/BE Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team

Qualified Candidates:

  • Board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
  • Have, or be able to obtain, an unrestricted license to practice in Florida - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms or conditions
  • No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction
  • Have current, unrestricted DEA registration

About the Role:

  • Full-time role with 15 shifts per month: 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up (rarely called in)
  • The acute care surgery team has six advanced practice professionals, with 24-hour APP coverage
  • A full-service, acute-care hospital with 365 beds including 10 ORs and 28 ICU beds
  • Ongoing expansion projects for 408 total inpatient beds, and an additional 20-bed ICU
  • 44 bed emergency department with 2 dedicated trauma bays with 112,000 annual patient visits
  • 9 ACGME residencies/fellowships including general surgery and emergency medicine
  • 2,000+ trauma patients in 2021
  • The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives
