UPMC Altoona is recruiting a Trauma and Emergency General Surgeon physician for our hospital in Altoona, PA. Join an expanding group of four Trauma Surgeons and eight Advanced Providers. Must have an MD or equivalent, be fellowship trained in Trauma/Acute Care surgery and board certified in General and Surgical Critical Care, ATLS, CPR and PALS certified with the ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license. J1 waiver sponsorship available.
Opportunity Details
- Average of 16, 12 hour shifts per month and 5-6 back up call shifts per month
- Advanced Practice provider coverage 24/7
- Over 1,700 trauma patients evaluated/year
- Over 900 EGS consults/year
- ED volume: 78,000/year
- Cerner EMR

- Well established program with strong APP program
