POSITION SUMMARY: ​

  • Collaboration is vital to any team. We are actively recruiting for a board eligible/certified cardiac surgeon for a position within the OSF cardiovascular service line. Training and experience in Structural Heart interventions is welcomed. Become a member of our Cardiology team at OSF Cardiovascular Institute, Rockford Illinois.

With 12 Cardiologists, a Vascular Surgeon, 1 Cardiothoracic surgeon who also perform vascular procedures and 5 advanced practice providers on staff, and a full contingency of trained support staff, the CVI is the largest practice of its kind in the region.

  • Focused intently on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular, and endovascular disease in our patients, the OSF Cardiovascular Institute also retains subspecialties in consultative cardiology, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, electrophysiology, peripheral vascular medicine, preventative cardiology and cardiology research. Currently OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is the only local facility offering structural heart procedures.
  • Delivering our patients specialty care through our Pacemaker and Defibrillator Clinic, Lipid Clinic, and Anticoagulation Clinic.
  • Availability Call coverage consists of 1:2 weeknights and 1:2 weekends.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state. Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal heath programs. Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
