Cardiothoracic Surgery Opportunity - New Bern, NC (Riverfront City near the North Carolina Coast, Ideal Climate with a Bevy of Golf, Art and Recreation)

Our CTV position is a hospital employed position with 3 other CTV surgeons in addition to our robust cardiology team of 13 cardiologists. There is only one hospital and one office to cover. We have two advance practice practitioners to assist in the hospital and in the clinic. CarolinaEast has a new hybrid OR and scheduled to begin TAVR at the end of October. Call would be one and three.

CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over eighty physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. We have specialties including Primary Care, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular Surgery, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Oncology, and Urology.

Job Summary: Provides open heart surgery on various areas in the heart region. The surgeon also specializes in treating vascular diseases and repair of vessels associated with the heart. This physician examines patients using medical instruments to check for signs of heart problems. Surgeon will perform surgeries for insertion of pacemakers, bypassing blocked coronary arteries, and surgical treatment on conditions of the heart. Prescribes medications, treatments, and recommends referrals to patients for further care as clinically appropriated..

Minimum Requirements: Possession and maintenance of a Physician's License from the State of North Carolina and certifications from the DEA. Must be a member in good standing of the Medical Staff of the hospital. Board Certified or Board Eligible required.
