Practice Description: Cardiothoracic Surgeon Locum, Sioux City IA

Shifts: 24 hr Call, 12p-12p, 10/9 noon through 10/12 noon and 10/23 noon through 10/26 noon

Med Mal: INCLUDED

BC/TBE/BE: BC- looking for very tenured candidate.

DEA Required?: Yes

Schedule: 24 hr call

Call Volume: Call Volume into ER is approx. 1 time a week. Patients are usually treated in ER and admitted then Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon visits following day UNLESS URGENT

Patient Load: Rounding in hospital is at most 6-7 patients per day

Patient Age: Adult
Physician working solo?: Yes
Support Staff: Yes, Surgical services, radiology and many other departments and units throughout the hospital.

Typical/Required Procedures: Provider must be able to do both cardio and vascular, client is NOT expecting endovascular as they have an interventional radiologist to do the angiograms.
What is the charting system: Power Charts/Cerner *Provider will not have to do a bunch of charting, the NP's in his practice generally do most of this*

Additional info specific to specialty: Client stressed that as long as the Physician can OPERATE, there is not a whole lot of busy work needed. There will be NO clinic hours, the 2 NP's on staff will see all clinic patients unless there is a urgent need. There is very limited charting. Serious cases ship out to Mayo approx. 3 hours away.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Clean background (Necessary for quick privileging) - Required

Board Certified - Required

IA license – preferred (Will accept locum who meets the requirements of the IMLC)

Provider can cover both sets of dates - Required

Cerner experience - Preferred

Provider must be very experienced, no new grads - Required
