KNOXVILLE, TN (Great Smoky Mountains) - Thoracic Surgery Opportunity

Thoracic Surgeon needed for a very busy practice – East Tennessee Cardiovascular Surgery Group. Join this well-established Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery group based in Knoxville, Tennessee. ETCVSG performs heart surgery and thoracic procedures in a multi-hospital surgical network with some of East Tennessee’s preferred medical centers – Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Parkwest Medical Center, and Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. This position will be based at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, and ideally would be a program director for thoracic surgery.

  • Call 1:3, every 2-3 weekends

Types of surgeries we would like a thoracic surgeon involved in:
  1. Minimally invasive lobectomy for lung cancer
  2. all esophagectomies for cancer and benign disease/reconstruction of esophagus in selected cases
  3. resection of mediastinal tumors
  4. advanced bronchoscopic procedures ( diagnostic,endobronchial ultrasonographic lymph node biopsy, navigational bronchoscopy)
  5. submucosal GE junction procedures for achalasia
  6. advanced surgical management of GE Reflux disease (could include advanced endoscopic GE junction valve formation)
  7. active involvement with multidisciplinary thoracic malignancies treatment (surgery + chemo + radiation)
