Seeking a highly experienced and capable cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon as the Medical Director of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Program. The system includes 220 employed physicians in a multi-specialty group practice; a 586-bed acute care hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient and a variety of community outreach services; and a regional network of 17 clinics.



•Attractive, comprehensive hospital facilities

•Large number of cardiologists (fifteen in a single practice)

•Current two-person CTV Surgery practice that will expand to three surgeons with the addition of this position

•Growing Cardiac Services market area that exceeds 500,000 people; aging population fueling increasing demand for cardiac services

•CABG and valve case volume exceeds 600 annually in the market area; SVHC currently captures nearly 50% of the market

The minimum requirements for the successful candidate are detailed below:

CT Surgery Medical Director Minimum Requirements

1. Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery with extensive training in adult cardiac surgery procedures

2. Has performed in excess of 1,000 cardiac surgery procedures with a minimum of 500 cases as lead surgeon

3. Minimum ten (10) years experience as a cardiothoracic surgeon.

4. Have documentable high quality outcomes and operating statistics indicating state-of-the-art thoracic, vascular and cardiac surgery practice capabilities, including cardiac valve repair & replacement, minimally invasive techniques and other innovative procedures

5. Leadership experience in a mature, highly successful, team-oriented cardiac surgery program; demonstrated potential to lead and influence fellow physicians; and/or leadership positions in healthcare organizations, professional organizations or the military
