First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking to employ a BC/BE Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon from an accredited program to join their employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida.

In November 2021, SMHCS opened a new 110-bed acute-care hospital in Venice, Florida, and we also opened a brand new Cancer Institute in November 2021. The new Tower is a 170,000 sq ft building that includes 56 private suites for hospitalized cancer patients, nine (9) operating rooms with a dedicated robotic surgery suite and integrative care services offering patient navigation and family/caregiver support. A Radiation Oncology Center with two linear accelerators opened in September 2020. Two Outpatient Cancer Pavilions will be built in Phase 3 - one on the campus of Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the other on the campus of SMH-Venice.

The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery practice is comprised of a dually boarded plastic surgeon and two Advanced Practice Providers along with a team of clinical and administrative support staff. It is an established practice in high demand and is growing to meet the needs of the community.

Practice specialization includes:

• Cancer reconstruction and chronic wounds following radiation
• Traumatic wounds of the upper and lower extremities as well as the scalp
• Microsurgical reconstruction including free, perforator and DIEP flaps
• Vascularized bone grafts
• Hand and wrist surgery
• Complex microsurgery (upper & lower extremity salvage).
