A hospital based in North Carolina is seeking a general surgeon who can provide locum tenens coverage for approximately two weeks with a high chance of extension. On the job, the locum tenens physician can expect to see patients for a variety of cases. The weekly average of surgeries are: 5-10 per doc depending on OR scheduled and if they have enough staff, the provider will be seeing cases such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hemorrhoids, abscesses, skin lesions, hernia repairs and exploratory laparotomies. No endo GI docs are responsible for that. The locum tenens physician will be on 24 hour call on one weekend per month from Friday at 7 a.m. to Monday at 7 a.m. It is going to be a 1:4 call. This facility uses Athenahealth and McKesson EMR. The client will provide EMR training.
