Clinical Academic General Surgery - About the position:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing clinical academic practice(s) located south of Houston. UTMB has opened two new hospital facilities to expand the core of our surgical practice: a state-of-the-art tertiary care 437 bed facility based in Galveston and a 39-bed community hospital facility located half way between Houston and Galveston, in League City. To further expanding our footprint in the League City region UTMB not only initiated construction of a five-story medical tower addition to the League City hospital but UTMB has also leased a 290-bed hospital in the Clear Lake area. Due to this expansion, UTMB is seeking to add new faculty and the successful candidate will work with the team to continue to build and grow the Surgical services in these areas. This is a full time Clinical Academic position and Academic rank is based upon experience. Starting salary of $350K with a competitive RVU bonus program, superior state benefits and retirement program along with relocation and other incentives.
