The Associate Chair will report to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Area of Responsibility:
· Comprehensive clinical duties within the department, as required
· Inpatient Services
· Ambulatory Care
· Operative and Perioperative Services
· Performance Improvement (Quality Assurance)
· Patient Safety
· Supervision of allied health providers
· Primary designee for Chairperson, as required
· Additional duties as required by Chairperson
· 50% will be administrative
Qualifications:
· SICU coverage experience
· Residency trained - Surgery
Applicant should have attained recognition in the specialty as evidenced by active involvement with academic professional societies, publications in referenced professional journals and formal presentations at academic meetings.
