Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) Surgical Services is conducting a search for a seasoned, academic pediatric cardiovascular surgeon to serve as Chief, Department of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery. The effective date of this appointment is preferably July 1, 2020.

Candidates should be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and hold that Board’s certificate in the subspecialty of Congenital Cardiac Surgery. Applicants should be established pediatric cardiovascular surgeons with a minimum of five years’ experience after completion of their pediatric cardiac surgical fellowship. Extensive experience in all aspects of pediatric cardiovascular surgery, surgery for adult congenital heart disease, the pediatric application of ventricular assist devices and pediatric cardiac transplantation is required. Candidates who meet the UNOS criteria to become a pediatric cardiac transplant Primary Surgeon are preferred.

The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery supports the academic and educational missions of CHM and Central Michigan University School of Medicine. The successful candidate should have an established record of scholarly achievement with excellence in teaching, research and administration.
