Bariatric Surgery opening in North Carolina Medical Director role. Fayetteville, NC 1 hour to Raleigh, NC Full Time, Permanent job Seeking a Bariatric Surgeon to add to our established hospital-based practice of 11 General Surgeons. Ideal candidate would have experience and the ability and desire to step in to a Medical Director role. We are looking for candidates that can fill the surgical role as well as the Medical Director role. All of our surgeons participate in general/trauma call. Join a superb, fully accredited weight management team of compassionate surgeons, behavioral health specialists dietitians, and certified Bariatric support staff in an ever expanding program dedicated to exceeding our weight loss patients goals for improved health and lifestyle! Our Bariatric Program is an established, thriving outpatient program that offers weight loss management including Bariatric Surgery, medical weight management, education, medication initiation, managing medication and vitamin levels for post-op Bariatric Surgery, pre and post operative support, exercise physiology and dietary planning. The office provides a comprehensive, team-based approach which includes certified Bariatric Coordinators / Navigators, Mental Health Counselors, Registered Dietitians, and Clinical Practitioners and Hospital Based Bariatric Case Managers. Physician candidates should have great leadership skills and work well with all members of the care team. This position will treat adult patients and enjoy access to sub-specialty care in our communities. This position will engage on a regular basis with community outreach initiatives, education and marketing endeavors for the program and health system. We are looking for candidates that can fill the surgical role as well as the Medical Director role. All of our surgeons participate in general/trauma call. Interested candidates should be Board Certified, hold a North Carolina license and DEA, and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Training and/or certification in Bariatric, Metabolic Weight Loss is highly preferred. 1,000+ bed, 8-hospital regional health system, with more than 1 million inpatient and outpatients annually. A private not-for-profit organization with 7,400 employees and 1,300 physicians on our medical staff.The ED it the busiest in North Carolina, and one of the top 13 busiest in the nation, treats 95k adult and 35k pediatric cases annually. It is designated a Level III Trauma Center. Our providers perform a wide variety of surgery, including minimally invasive procedures for acute and chronic conditions as well as acute care surgery.
