Pleasant Valley Hospital is offering an outstanding opportunity for a rheumatologist to practice in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Point Pleasant is a beautiful community nestled in between the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers. This is an historic area The draw area population is approximately 50,000. Within this is Point Pleasant with a population of about 5000., Mason County with a population of about 25,000. Two surrounding counties in Ohio have similar populations and are a significant part of the draw area. There are also three larger cities in WV(Huntington, Charleston and Parkersburg) that approximately one hour away and even larger cities in Ohio(Columbus and Cincinnati) that are about two hours away.

Pleasant Valley Hospital is a 201-bed facility that offers a full spectrum of services and includes a 101-bed acute care facility, a 100-bed nursing and rehabilitation center, and a wellness center. Services provided include internal and family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, inpatient and outpatient surgery, orthopedics, radiology, oncology and hematology, neurology, sleep medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology, podiatry, otolaryngology, and a full range of rehabilitation services including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

The Point Pleasant area is rich in history and offers a small river town atmosphere with a pleasant and comfortable quality of life. Before the town was charted in 1794, Native Americans called the area Tu-Endie-Wei, or “Mingling of the Waters” or “Where Two Rivers Meet.” Point Pleasant is home to Tu-Endie-Wei State Park, Krodel Park, Fort Randolph, OSR Winery, the River Museum, shopping on Main Street, and last, but certainly not least, the Mothman.

PRACTICE SALARY:

This opportunity will provide a starting salary between $250,000. and $270,000. with sign on bonus, loan forgiveness, relocation benefit and an outstanding package of other employee benefits.
