Job Description

Last Update: 6/30/20

We are seeking a BE/BC Rheumatologist to join in serving the community of Great Falls and North Central Montana, with a catchment area of over 275,000 people. Rheumatologist examines patients to ensure proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment of musculoskeletal disease and systemic autoimmune conditions, and recovery; requests necessary tests, follow-up visits; and, refers patients to specialists, as necessary.

The department has an outpatient Infusion Suite (non-chemo) for connective tissue and immune-compromised patients, Dieticians and Diabetes educators on the floor, and phlebotomists to execute outpatient lab orders before and after appointments. Support staff for the entire clinic includes front office staff to register, schedule, and prior-authorize medications, clinical staff, and a prescription nurse used to refill medications. The practice is also building a care coordination team to deliver proactive care while the clinical team focuses on the patient in front of them (phone or visit).

Hospitalists admit and take direction for Inpatients. We provide a stable base of primary care physicians while also offering a variety of specialty outpatient services, including: Acupuncture; Anesthesiology; Cancer; Critical Care; Dermatology; Ear, Nose & Throat; Emergency Medicine; Endocrinology; Family Medicine; Gastroenterology; Geriatrics; Heart & Vascular; Injury Center; Internal Medicine/Post-Discharge; Medical Spa; Neonatology; Neurology; Neurosurgery; Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility; Orthopedics; Pain Management; Pathology; Pediatrics, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery; Psychiatry/Psychology; Pulmonary; Rehabilitation; Urology; and Walk-In/Urgent Care.

The clinic is open from 7:00 - 5:00 pm and most providers have patients scheduled from 8:30 - 4:30 pm, allowing time for early morning blood work or infusion. Call is handled by our large hospitalist program and therefore has a minimal impact on outpatient providers. There is opportunity to pick up additional hospitalist shifts if that is of interest.

Our medical and professional staff is wholly committed to delivering aware-winning, comprehensive patient care. With a patient community of nearly 230,000 and a vast service area, we are the major referral hospital for the northcentral Montana region. But if you take a closer look, you'll see that we're much more than a hospital. We are an entire health system, including a cancer institute, bariatric institute, heart and vascular institute, orthopedic center, senior care center, home health, health and wellness facility and much more. We have one of the state's most modern and progressive healthcare facilities with 500+ beds and over 250 members on medical staff representing 40 specialties.
