Rheumatology Physician in North Carolina
StartDate: ASAP

Merritt Hawkins’ Division of Academics is honored to partner with the Department of Medicine in association with the Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence for the recruitment of academic-minded rheumatologists. We are seeking an exceptional clinician-educator to join the Section of Rheumatology at this prestigious medical school in North Carolina. With a longstanding fellowship training program, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and already busy department, and actively participate in the medical education of fellows and residents.

Fellowship Program Director Highlights:
  • Established fellowship program with previous PD that had been in the role for decades
  • A minimum of five years of experience in training rheumatology fellows and/or internal medicine residents in an ACGME accredited program
  • Facilitate programs and resources to assist and promote faculty growth, development, and accomplishments in the fields of education, research, and professional service.
  • Total of 3 fellows with approval to add a fourth
  • Minimum 40% protected time
Clinic Faculty Position:
  • No General Internal Medicine call
  • A dedicated Lupus Specialty Clinic
  • An Infusion Centers at each site
  • Be a part of this busy, growing practice currently comprised of four rheumatologists and one PA
  • Flexibility regarding time allocation for clinic, administrative days, precepting, teaching, or scholarly work
  • Competitive compensation- exceed AAMC benchmarks
  • Unlimited vacation, relocation package, and full benefits package, which includes tuition support for your children at any university in the nation (value $84,000 per child)
  • Expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound could be an opportunity for you to have an active, additional teaching role within the fellowship and residency
  • Research experience in clinical trials is a plus (but not required)
