The University of Central Florida, College of Medicine Faculty Practice at UCF Health in Orlando (UCF-COM) is seeking a full time Rheumatologist to join an expanding multi-specialty academic practice. Applicants should be exceptional clinicians who have demonstrated a value based philosophy of patient care and are seeking an exclusively outpatient care environment. There will be opportunities for clinical research and teaching learners and medical trainees in the clinical setting. This is a unique opportunity to join an academic rheumatology program at a large metropolitan medical college. This position is for a tenure track or non-tenure track (multi-year) appointment at the assistant, associate or full professor of medicine level.
As one of the nation’s largest universities, UCF has demonstrated excellence in technology, science, and simulation. The College of Medicine is LCME-accredited and home to 120 medical students per graduating class. The UCF-HCA Consortium residency programs now host 355 residents and have recently been approved for a rheumatology fellowship as well. The medical campus is located at Lake Nona, serving as an anchor to the 500-acre “Medical City”, which is rapidly growing to include hospitals, clinics, and research institutes. The success of the multispecialty faculty practice clinic, UCF Health, has led to further growth and expansion to a second state-of-the-art facility and hence multiple recruitments to practice primarily in an outpatient setting.
UCF Health is the clinical faculty practice of UCF COM. This multi-specialty care practice provides outstanding patient care and creates opportunities for medical education and clinical research. The guiding principles for this practice include patient-centered and collaborative multidisciplinary care, a commitment to evidence-based medicine, measurement of nationally recognized quality metrics and an orientation toward innovation and ever-higher standards of quality care and patient safety.
Candidates must have an M.D. or equivalent from an accredited medical school.
Candidates must be eligible for licensure or licensed to practice in the State of Florida and must be Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in their respective medical specialty.
Board certification would be expected within two (2) years of completion of training.
