The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), in partnership with [Register to View] and Hospital Sisters Health System ([Register to View] ), seeks a founding Program Director for Family and Community Medicine. This individual will also serve as Assistant Dean of Family and Community Medicine for MCW-Green Bay and Vice President of Medical Education for Prevea Health/HSHS. [Register to View] , an innovative regional medical school in Northeast Wisconsin, admitted its first cohort of medical students in July 2015. The Family Medicine residency program is an outgrowth of the new medical school campus. This residency will provide a site for graduates of the MCW-Green Bay to continue their training beginning in July 2020. The Family Medicine residency program will be a 4-4-4 academically focused and community oriented program. The Program Director will be a full time faculty member of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin at a rank commensurate with experience.

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished family medicine educator and administrator.

The appealing aspects of this position include:

  1. The opportunity to create a new program with the combined resources of a medical school, health system and large medical group with the support of community physicians.

  2. Leadership roles in medical education at a medical school, health system and medical group fostering greater integration and involvement in strategic decision-making.

  3. Resources of an academic Department of Family and Community Medicine with a track record of developing and supporting a majority of the family medicine residency programs in the state.

  4. The regional campus model in Green Bay allows for closer and richer connections between the academic enterprise and its clinical partners.

  5. Support of a $2.3B health system (HSHS) with a 49% market share in the greater Green Bay and partnership with a growing medical group.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Completed residency training in family medicine and board certification/recertification in Family Medicine as an MD or DO.

  • Ability to obtain medical licensure in the State of Wisconsin.

  • Ability to be credentialed on the medical staff of appropriate hospitals in the Green Bay metropolitan area.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate clinical experience and at least two (2) years of experience as core teaching faculty in an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program.

  • Prior Graduate Medical Education administrative experience in a leadership role including site director, associate director, fellowship or program director preferred.

  • Knowledge of current ACGME guidelines and regulations as outlined in the ACGME Manual of Policies and Procedures.

  • Experience in curricular design, evaluation of educational attainment, and mentorship of trainees in a department of medicine preferred.
