Physician- Diagnostic Radiologist


Location: NH Bremerton, WA, and associated branch medical clinics within a 40-mile radius of their assigned MTF

Work Schedule:

  • Diagnostic Radiologist: Services are required three days a week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700 to 1900 for an 8.5 hour period to include a .5-hour uncompensated meal break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 48 hours per two-week.



QUALIFICATIONS: The contract physicians shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

  • Have graduated from a residency training program in Diagnostic Radiology approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical

  • Possess board certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic

5.2.1.2.5 Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands. The HCW is responsible for complying with all applicable state licensing regulations.

  • Provide two letters of recommendation written within the preceding two years from practicing providers, supervisors or program administrators attesting to the HCW’s professional skills, competencies, patient rapport, training abilities, etc. Recommendation letters must include; name, title, phone number, date of recommendation, address and signature of the individual providing the

  • Possess experience as a Radiologist of at least 24 months, post residency, within the preceding 36


  • Have completed at least 25 hours of radiology continuing education within the two years preceding work on this contract.
  • Duties- Specific. – Diagnostic Radiologist UID# [Register to View] 4 and UID# [Register to View] 3. The HCW shall provide services within the scope of the clinical privileges granted by the commanding officer, the applicable duties provided in the basic contract, and the following:

  • Perform interpretation of routine radiographic studies including the chest, abdomen, extremities, head, and neck.

  • Perform interpretation of special radiographic studies including fluoroscopic procedures (barium swallow, upper gastrointestinal studies, small bowel follow through, etc.); radiographic procedures of the genitourinary tract, and musculoskeletal

  • Clinically direct performance and interpret results of screening, indicated, or diagnostic mammograms, including needle localization of any masses

  • Perform and interpret results of ultrasound examinations (abdominal, small parts, vascular, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and neurological studies) and ultrasound guided

  • Perform and interpret computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures and scans. Possess ability to work with installed Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS).

  • Perform and interpret Nuclear Medicine procedures using the following radioisotopes: Technetium-99M, Iodine-131, Iodine-123, Gallium-67, Thallium-201, and Indium-111.

  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics

  • Clinically direct and teach other medical staff and provide educational lectures and participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical

  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and

  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the institution.

  • Demonstrate awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and unit function and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk

  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement

  • Demonstrate appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic

  • Complete continuing education to meet own professional growth and specialty

  • Joint Commission requirements - Comply with the standards of the Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law and the rules and regulations of any and all governmental authorities pertaining to:

5.5.3.3.15.1 Licensure and/or regulation of healthcare personnel in treatment facilities, and 5.5.3.3.15.2 The regulations and standards of professional practice of the treatment facility, and


5.5.3.3.15.3 The bylaws of the treatment facility’s professional staff.
