The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is currently seeking qualified applicants for a faculty position in the Department of Radiology as the Director of Ultrasound in the Division of Body Imaging.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the clinical and academic activities of the Ultrasound Section;

  • Provide leadership for junior faculty and 2 Body Imaging fellow physicians that provide imaging interpretation in CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy; assist in teaching in the Bachelor’s level Ultrasound technologist school;

  • Image-guided interventional procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

  • An M.D. or M.D. /Ph.D. with active board certification in Radiology and fellowship training in Body Imaging;

  • Possess academic credentials for a faculty appointment on the clinician educator track at the minimum level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.

  • Prior leadership experience in an academic environment preferred;

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the culture, needs, and aspirations of the community;

  • Possess a current, full and unrestricted license to practice in a state and be qualified for medical licensure in the State of Iowa;

  • Rank and academic track will be commensurate with candidate experience and credentials.
