The Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado Denver’s (CU Denver) Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) is seeking a fellowship-trained Breast Imaging Radiologist to serve as a full-time faculty member in the Breast Imaging Section. The new faculty will be at the instructor level or higher with direct reporting to the Chief of Breast Imaging. This is a terrific opportunity to join a highly progressive department and institution, on a continually expanding medical campus, in one of the best places to live in the United States.

Our campuses capitalize on the beauty and charm of the bustling metropolitan area located minutes away from the Rocky Mountains. The Breast Imaging faculty member will have the opportunity to continue the growth and expansion of the clinical and educational services, as well as to provide greater depth to the clinical research program.

As part of the teaching mission of the medical school, breast imaging faculty interact with and instruct medical students, diagnostic radiology residents, and breast imaging fellow(s) within the Section. Both the Breast Section and the Department of Radiology have been recognized as an ACR Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence. We are the only Radiology department in the state of Colorado to receive this prestigious honor.

Your Mission as the Breast Imaging Radiologist:

The focus is to foster, support, and sustain an environment that promotes academic excellence within the Department of Radiology. The Breast Imager will contribute to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. Performs a combination of the following duties:

  • Interprets screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast MRI examinations, performance and interpretation of breast sonograms, and performance of all breast imaging-guided breast procedures (mammographically, stereotactically, ultrasound- and MRI-guided needle biopsies; Savi Scout reflector, radioactive seed, and wire localizations; and ductography).

  • Mentors and instructs residents, fellows, and medical students in research projects as assigned. Initiates or participates in scholarly activities.

  • Lectures, holds conferences, and participates in related meetings and school functions.

  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • MD / DO degree or equivalent.

  • Colorado Medical License or eligibility for Colorado Medical Licensure.

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in diagnostic radiology or equivalent.

  • Breast fellowship trained with competence in all imaging modalities utilized in breast imaging including digital mammography, breast tomosynthesis, magnetic resonance imaging, and image-guided breast procedures.

  • Education, training, and experience required by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) for physicians interpreting breast imaging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

  • Completion of 1-year fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent.

  • Interest in clinical research, preferred, but not required.

Salary and academic rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and academic background. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
