Pulmonologist Physician / Eglin AFB, FL - Located approximately 6 miles from Destin/Fort Walton Beach, FL. Duty hours will be scheduled by the Cardiopulmonary Element Chief to correspond to the needs of the department. On call will be rotated equally among the providers in the department and will occur approximately every 3 weeks / 17 weeks per year. Pulmonologist should meet the following requirement: - Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy - Successful completion of a residency in Internal Medicine, and successful completion of residency or fellowship program in Pulmonology - Subsequent to obtaining a MD or DO degree, candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (i.e., 1 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training) - Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease by the ABIM - Active/unrestricted license in one of the fifty states (No FL license required due to working on a military base) - BLS/ACLS Certifications through American Heart or Red Cross - 24 months recent experience within the past 36 months as a Pulmonologist Workload includes the evaluation and treatment of emergent, urgent, and non-emergent patients ranging in age as young as 18 years to over 65 years. Workload is a result of scheduled appointments, walk-ins to the clinic from other departments, walk-ins for specific diagnoses, telephone calls, and consult requests. Shall participate in the inpatient care of critically ill patients. It is expected the HCW will be a clinical leader and a patient advocate in the intensive care unit. Shall provide critical care consults to patients admitted to ICU and assist primary teams in their patient management. Provide pulmonary consultative services for hospital inpatients. Provide inpatient consultative services and follow-up for patients with pulmonary disorders; as well as, provide education/teaching to staff members of other disciplines/specialties, medical residents/students, and other personnel involved in patient care. The contract HCW will be expected to be on call from the local area on a rotating basis.
