Geriatric Psychiatrist (Medical Director) - Columbus, NE (SE Nebraska, A Short Drive to Omaha)
Hospital Employed
New Senior Behavioral Health Unit in hospital – open August 2021
15–20 hours/week (treatment team, psych evaluations, treatment plans, policies, etc.)
Tele Psychiatry Model – could look at hybrid model depending on location of psychiatrist (tele and in-house)
10-bed unit – program will be offered in partnership with Horizon Health Behavioral Health Services, an organization that focuses on hospital-based behavioral health.
Inpatient geriatric psychiatry program will treat older adults who have mental health conditions like depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder – short-term stays of 10 to 14 days – advance practice nurse in psychiatry will be in the unit for day-to-day handling of patients.

Hospital currently in $35M renovation project to include: OR/SDS/OB/Diagnostic Imaging/New Senior Behavioral Health Unit
