Psychiatrist opportunity in Lakeland, Florida

Ready for a change? We have an excellent, full-time opportunity available for a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist to join our behavioral health team in Polk County, Florida, just 40 miles East of Tampa. In this position, you will provide and oversee direct care to adult, pediatric and adolescent patients in an outpatient setting. This position is office-based and you will be conducting in-person visits as well as see patients via a telehealth platform.

The focus is on providing the absolute highest level of quality patient care and the staff is very friendly and team-oriented to work with. There is plenty of room for professional growth and advancement and a healthy work-life balance is encouraged.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:
Board eligibility or board certification in psychiatry is required, Florida licensed MDs and DOs only, Current DEA number with no restrictions on prescribing controlled substances, Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party reimbursements. Individuals excluded from participation in federal reimbursement programs (including Medicaid, Medicare, and CHAMPUS) by the Office of the Inspector General do not meet the requirements for this position.
Successful completion of a background review and reference checks as required by law, including Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, Dependent Adult Registry Check, Sexual Offender Registry Check, Screening of the National Practitioners Data Bank, and other checks as required by law.

The ideal psychiatrist will have extensive experience providing psychiatric services, prescribing psychotropic medication, performing psychiatric evaluations, and treating severely mentally ill patients. Experience treating patients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders and knowledge of recovery-based services and principles is desired, Qualified psychiatrists will be knowledgeable regarding evidence-based practices and will have extensive experience in mental health clinic settings. Forensic experience is preferred.
