We are seeking a part-time Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Meridell Achievement Center. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry with experience working in an inpatient setting. Our Adolescent psychiatrists direct treatment teams comprised of master-level counselors, nurses, recreational therapists, trained direct-care staff, and teachers. These teams are supported by a neuropsychologist, psychologist, and registered dietitian and receive consultation from a pediatric neurologist.

Meridell is a residential treatment facility located in Liberty Hill, Texas, providing specialized care for children and adolescents since 1961. Having served youth with a wide range of behavioral and emotional difficulties for over 60 years in the greater Austin area, we offer gender-affirming traditional behavioral and neurobehavioral programs for youths aged 11 to 17.

Liberty Hill is located 33 miles northwest of Austin in the scenic Texas hill country. At the time of Meridell's founding, Liberty Hill was a rural community located on the outskirts of Austin. Today, the city is considered a northwest suburb with an easy commute to the Austin city center and international airport.

DETAILS

  • Provide care to adolescent population in an inpatient setting
  • Perform initial patient psychiatric evaluations and admissions procedures.
  • Perform medication management consultations and evaluations.
  • Manageable & sustainable caseload for great work/life balance.
  • Shared call
  • Option to do a mix of both inpatient care and telehealth, if desired
  • Independent contractor position

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE (includes licenses or certifications)

  1. MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Successful completion of psychiatry residency/fellowship at ACGME approved & accredited program (required).
  3. Board-certified or board-eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (required).
  4. Licensed to practice in the State of TX or the ability to obtain a TX medical license.
  5. Meets all credentialing criteria required by participating physicians
