Chief Medical Officer
We are seeking a Chief Medical Officer to be responsible for developing, revising and monitoring all medical protocols, policies and procedures to assure compliance with privileging, licensing and accreditation standards. This individual will manage up to 20-30 physicians and perform audits of medical records and procedures conducted by treating physicians, and conduct regular performance evaluations of the physicians and nurse practitioners.
The CMO will be responsible for:
• Overseeing medical care and ensuring medical treatment services are properly implemented
• Providing medical treatment to patients
• Reviewing, creating or amending policies and procedures to improve program quality and effectiveness
• Monitoring, developing and evaluating medical treatment services and providing guidance and expertise to management and other physicians
• Serving as a their representative to funding sources, accrediting bodies and other outside organizations on matters and issues related to medical treatment
• The Chief Medical Officer works closely with the Senior Management Team to establish, implement and improve the necessary structures and processes to meet accreditation standards for all facilities, and to establish, implement and improve clinical practice guidelines for the corporation
The Chief Medical Officer reports directly to the Vice President, Community Services Division. The ideal candidate will possess:
• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
• Current professional license and Board Certification to practice medicine in the State of Illinois
• Current certification and recognition by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and|or American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM)
• Must have knowledge buprenorphine and naltrexone
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical practice, multi-facility operation
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing medical services
• Advanced communication skills necessary to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of executives, managers, medical professionals and community representatives
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
