Location: Louisiana, central location between New Orleans and Baton Rouge

Specialty: Psychiatry, Inpatient

START/END DATE: immediate need, ongoing. Hospital has an immediate need for a locums psychiatrist to start June 13 ongoing.

-HOURS: The psychiatrist would work 40 hours/week

-FACILITY: 20 bed Behavioral Health unit

-PATIENT VOLUME: typically have 10-12 patients/day. Discharges take place around noon, so it would be important for the physician to be at work in the morning, at least by 9 or 10 am. The hours can be somewhat flexible as long as the unit has coverage in the morning.

The practice currently has two openings. Should a locums physician want to commit to long-term, even for a year, they will be happy to sign the confirmation letter for that extended amount of time.

Central location between New Orleans and Baton Rouge provides ample opportunities to take advantage of the commercial, cultural and recreational resources available throughout the region. An award-winning public school system, along with the availability of private schools provide for high quality educational programming. A total of 18 colleges and universities are within a few hours with 10 in the immediate New Orleans area.

The Hospital is a not-for-profit acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of this community and the surrounding areas and is proud to be fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Medical office buildings were added to the hospital campus, providing space for outpatient services and several medical specialties with the primary goal to continue providing the highest quality of care possible.
