We are looking for a psychiatrist to join our award-winning, growing mental health team that provides specialized treatment programs serving the adolescent population in Central PA. This is a full-time position where the psychiatrist would serve as Medical Director of 5 locations, both residential and outpatient, with opportunity for growth.

The Psychiatric Medical Director will serve as Medical Director of clinical programs engaged in psychiatric care of children and adolescents.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as Medical Director of Clinical programs engaged in Psychiatric care of children and adolescents
  • Perform medication management assessments and prescribe medication as needed
  • Provide medical and administrative direction and supervision to mental health professionals, counseling, child care and administrative staff
  • Perform medical diagnosis and treatment- inclusive of admission psych evaluations, treatment development plan and oversight, and discharge evaluations
  • Evaluate and review the work of subordinate and other medical providers
  • Plan and prepare protocols and standardized procedures
  • Maintain effective relationships with other County Referral Agencies
  • Analysis, evaluation, and planning of health/mental health programs
  • Documentation- written and oral reports
  • Conduct in-service training programs
  • Supervise and direct other Advanced Practice Professionals and mid-level practitioners
  • Provide mental health court testimony
  • Manage resources productivity to ensure targets are met
  • Works closely with the Regional Administrators for Residential and Outpatient Services, Regional Coordinators, and Program Directors to maximize clinical integrity of program structures and achieve successful patient treatment outcomes

Requirements:

  • BC/BE Psychiatrist- Certification by an American Specialty Board (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred but not required)
  • Physician’s License issued by PA (or pending)
  • State and/or Federal Narcotic license
  • Clinical Supervisory experience is a plus

Salary:

  • $250k- $300k +

The role of the Medical Director includes providing medical diagnosis and treatment, treatment plan development, protocol development, medical and administrative direction to mental health professionals and other staff, oversight, evaluations, and review of subordinates, amongst other responsibilities.
