This Regional Medical Center is seeking a board certified/board eligible Psychiatrist to act as a Psychiatry Residency Program Director and oversee an existing AOA accredited program and its conversion to ACGME accreditation. In 2015 the program had its first group of Resident complete their training. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated leader to have input on taking an existing program to the next level and expanding on the program.
Qualifications of the program director must include:
Specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the Review Committee
Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Five (5) years of full-time licensed experience as a Physician practicing in Psychiatry
Current license or eligible for license to practice medicine in Florida
Be willing to combine Administrative and clinical Responsibilities (50/50)
Have strong administrative and team building skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities will include:
Authority and accountability for the operation of the Psychiatry residency program
Recruiting residents into the program
Participating in competency evaluations of residents
Additional responsibilities to ensure program of excellence
Candidates with recent scholarly activity such as peer reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educations organizations highly encouraged to apply
It is expected that Program Director candidates have current academic and educational experience, ideally acting in a Program Director capacity currently. Academic experience refers to scholarly activity, particularly within the last 5 year period.
