STGi is currently seeking a Part Time Psychologist to support Naval Health Clinic Groton, CT.

Administer programs of treatment to mentally and emotionally disturbed individual adjustments; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
Assist in treating rehabilitation patients.
Treat individuals in times of personal crisis such as a divorce or death of a loved one.
Interview patients and study medical and social case histories.
Diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment.
Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and prevention education.
Perform Psychological testing and evaluations.
Travel. The Commanding Officer may request that the HCW travel to provide services, attend training and/or attend government specified conferences when in the best interest of the government and patient care. The COR will determine the reasonableness of all costs incurred. When questions arise, the government's Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) shall always be followed.

Psychologist will have successfully completed a nationally accredited PhD program in Psychology.
Have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program
Other Qualifications:
a) Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with
all patients and other health care providers. Shall be able to communicate to health care providers
effectively.
b) Shall be knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use
necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff,
patients, and family members.
c) Shall be sufficiently skilled to teach patients proper self-care and to motivate patients and family members
to continue the procedures for promoting rapid healing.
d) Shall be knowledgeable and possess skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs
of the patients. The Contract Psychologist shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and
development appropriate to the appropriate patient population served: Adolescent, Adults, and Geriatric
(>65).
e) Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to
prevention, and detection of illnesses in adults, is desirable.
f) Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and
automated medical records to include . Software Proficiency. Contract personnel shall be knowledgeable
with standard DoD software programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
g) Be a U.S citizen.
