The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio (OSUWMC) is recruiting a psychiatric hospitalist to join our growing faculty in Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.

We are searching for a highly motivated psychiatrist committed to excellence in clinical care and a career in academic psychiatry.

The Ohio State Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health has a long and respected tradition of excellence in clinical care, research and education. Under the new leadership of K. Luan Phan, MD as chair, the department is composed of five specialty divisions and boasts one of the largest, most diverse faculty in the region; the department has over 100 primary faculty.

As a department within one of America’s largest teaching hospitals, we enjoy access to a remarkable array of specialists. The department offers leading- edge training programs, including an adult residency program, multiple fellowship programs, psychology practicum and internship programs, post-doctoral training, a social work externship, and multiple nurse training programs.

Our department is vibrant and growing. Harding Hospital is a 91-bed hospital, consisting of adult psychiatric, adolescent, and our psychiatric emergency service, which sees over 8,000 consults a year. We have an expanding number of partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs and we are in the process of developing four additional suburban sites. We have a residency program of over 40 general psychiatry residents with plans for expansion and have fellowships in child psychiatry, addiction medicine, forensics, and consult-liaison.

The Opportunity

Typical Schedule: Seven days on and seven days off. Total of 26 annual weeks worked per calendar year.

Patient Volume per Physician per Shift: Fifteen to Twenty

Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with professional experience and qualifications.

Reduced University tuition for Faculty, Staff and dependents.

Signing or Retention Bonus is negotiable

Loan repayment is available for those who qualify.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO

Successful completion of a Psychiatry Residency

Board Certified or Board Eligible

Ohio Medical License
