The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, clinically effective psychiatric care to adults, adolescents or children. Staff Psychiatrists have medical/clinical authority and responsibility for admitting, patient care, and discharge of patients admitted to the unit. Responsible for medical administration and, in some cases, supervision of APRNs, implementing clinically sound, consumer-oriented services in collaboration with the Unit Medical Director. Abides by policies, procedures, and medical staff training and compliance that promote a positive work and treatment culture, measurable patient quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Graduate of an accredited medical school and board-certified in the relevant patient population served. Experienced in inpatient adult/adolescent or child psychiatry. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Massachusetts. Active DEA #. Active physician participant or eligible for applicable payor provider panels including Medicare.
Advanced level knowledge in psychiatry and in the application of clinical treatment modalities with population(s) served. Effective oral and written communication skills. Experienced in clinical supervision and training. Skilled in maintaining regulations applicable to programs and services (e.g. Joint Commission, CMS, DPH, DMH, etc.), public speaking or teaching/training skills desired. Strong organizational and team-building skills.
