Fuller Hospital is recruiting an Adult Psychiatrist to work in our Inpatient Adult Services Program. Duties include admission evaluations, treatment team leadership and daily care of patients. All patient care is provided in a multidisciplinary treatment setting with an excellent treatment team comprised of psychiatrists, mental health counselors, nurses, social workers and other therapists. The work schedule is Monday – Friday and can be part-time or fulltime. There is no weeknight or weekend call required. Any call that is voluntarily scheduled for week nights or weekends is at extra compensation. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. There are also partial hospitalization programs (PHP) for patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The Intellectual Disabilities Inpatient Unit at Fuller Hospital has served adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities for more than 25 years. The program provides behaviorists and occupational therapists to support patients. The unit is the only inpatient adult intellectual disabilities unit in Massachusetts. The program provides diagnosis and treatment to persons with intellectual disabilities who are experiencing acute, co-occurring behavioral or psychiatric disorders. The goal of the program is to enable patients to return to community living after a short-term hospital stay. The program provides a safe, respectful, therapeutic environment in which an individual can be understood and treated. Individual treatment planning is conducted with input from the patient, family and their community-based team.
