The University of Rochester is seeking Psychiatry faculty to join URMC's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), a program unique to New York State that aims to provide evaluation and emergent treatment for individuals of all ages who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis. Qualified candidates will enjoy working in a collegial team of providers, including psychiatrists, social workers, nursing staff and midlevel providers.

About CPEP and University of Rochester Medical Center:

The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) consists of the Emergency Unit, extended observation beds, the Mobile Crisis Team and four crisis beds in the community, which are accessed via the Mobile Crisis Team. The CPEP Emergency Unit is located adjacent to, and is part of, the Medical Emergency Department. The primary purpose of this unit is to provide individuals with a psychiatric evaluation to determine if inpatient hospital intervention is needed, and if so, to facilitate admission to an inpatient psychiatric unit.
