Michael’s House opened in 1989 and has been serving patients and their families through comprehensive integrated treatment for nearly three decades. Once a facility with 24 beds, we now have 120 beds—and has helped countless men and women find the path to long-term recovery from addiction and mental health conditions.

Michael’s House is nationally recognized for providing integrated treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, grief/loss, personality disorders and similar conditions.

We are located at the foot of the towering San Jacinto mountain range in Palm Springs, California, and our modern, restorative facility with four campuses (our Stabilization Center, Michael’s House Treatment Center, Outpatient Center and Men’s Transitional Living) provides safety and privacy for patients seeking healing and recovery.

Adult Staff Psychiatrist - Michael's House

  • Palm Springs, CA
  • 120 bed integrated-care facility;
  • Sprawling four-building campus;
  • Integrated treatment for drug and alcohol addiction, co-occuring mental health disorders, and full-spectrum of mental health issues;
  • Founded in 1989;
  • Specialized program offerings include: Adventure Program, Men's & Women's Program, Life Challenge, LGBT, & Family Programs;

DETAILS:

  • See patients in residential or outpatient settings;
  • Medication management;
  • New patient admissions and initial psychiatric evaluations;
  • Medication Assisted Treatment;
  • Suboxone maintenance management & tapers;
  • Medical record documentation in TIER (EHR) & MS4;
  • Coordinate care with on-site nursing staff;
  • Generally Monday-Friday, days-only schedule;
  • Call coverage is split among medical staff team; one weekend per month and is limited to emergencies only

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active California medical license, in good standing or ability to obtain one (required);
  • Successful completion of an accredited psychiatry residency/fellowship training program (required);
  • Ability to prescribe controlled substances and current DEA license in California (required);
  • Previous experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and prescribing/maintaining Suboxone tapers (strongly preferred); and
  • Prior experience dual-diagnosis, integrated care model, and/or psychiatry.
