**Psychiatry opening near Columbia, SC**
* Located in ***Camden, SC*** - just 32 miles from Columbia!

* Join a team on new 20-bed Senior Behavioral Health Unit
* Geriatric Unit is scheduled to open in September 2018
Clinical responsibilities will include new admission assessments and discharges, daily patient care on the inpatient unit (and/or seeing patients in outpatient clinic), evaluation and management of psychiatric patients on the inpatient unit, in the Emergency Department, providing psychiatric consults for medical-surgical patients, and supervision of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
The Medical Director will hold a critical leadership position at the hospital and must be willing to work in a collaborative environment on the unit with treatment professionals, administration, and community professionals. The collaborative team includes RNs, Behavioral Health Techs, Social Workers, and Activity Therapists. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Medical Director will be responsible for administrative functions on the unit, medical staff participation, and community interaction and education. Must also participate in court proceedings as needed to comply with local regulations for involuntary committals or releases. Will work in conjunction with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner on a day-to-day basis and will share on-call responsibilities and overage will be supplemented by local Psychiatrists. Call is 1:3 schedule to include one weekend per month, and responsibilities on the inpatient unit will be Monday Friday. The ideal candidate will have experience in Geriatric Psychiatry, however, new graduates and candidates with Adult Psychiatry experience will also be considered.
