Job Description

Our client is seeking a Psychiatrist to join their practice that specializes in the care of the underserved and uninsured population of Henry County, Virginia. This position offers excellent benefits, great pay, and an excellent location. Henry County is nestled between the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains and vibrant Roanoke, Virginia, and is known for its art scene, network of hiking trails, fishing, kayaking, and snow sports.

Details:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Schedule is Monday to Friday, with a mix of nine and twelve hour shifts from 6:45 am to 7:15 pm
  • Perform psychiatric assessments and develop an appropriate treatment plan
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in accordance with FDA regulations
  • Document informed consent processes and clinical justifications for polypharmacy
  • Monitor patients for medication side effects or complications
  • Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies
  • Cross cover for other providers, perform basic psychiatric and medical consolations
  • Supervise other medical staff and medical students—as needed
  • Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center
  • EHR: EClinical Works

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry
  • Completion of an accredited General Psychiatry residency program
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school
  • Experience in community psychiatry is preferred
  • Valid Virginia medical license
  • Current DEA certification
