Due to growth and expansion, Essen Health Care has an immediate opening for a Psychiatrist to join Essen Medical Associates, our leading multispecialty medical group, located in Bronx New York. Psychiatrist will work with a variety of patients, evaluating, monitoring and diagnosing patients. Final Year graduates are welcome.

Founded in 1999, Essen Medical Associates, P.C. is a comprehensive multi-specialty medical group with 20 medical offices located throughout the Bronx. As one of the initial practices to have achieved ‘Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home’ designation in New York, our mission is to provide highest quality care that is professional, compassionate, and patient-focused.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patient through conversations, interviews, and observations

Administer patient tests or request testing/lab work; analyze patient data and results

Diagnose patient with correct psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorder

Collaborate with patient’s physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment

Set patient’s goals and discuss treatment plans

Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs of patient

Analyze the best medications or therapy to help patient reach goal

Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake

Document patient records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments

Counsel patient and listen to their reactions to treatment

Provide patient with emotional tools and methods for recovery

Educate patient, patient’s family, significant others, and relevant parties of patient’s progress, treatment, and future goals

Competencies

Ability to make sound and timely triage, treatment and disposition decisions

Ability to coordinate with multiple disciplines in the evaluation and care of patients

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Great interpersonal relations, communications, and demeanor

Qualifications

Completion of an approved psychiatry residency-training program

Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

New York State Medical License

Eligible for NYS license and DEA

Successful completion of U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)

Bilingual (Spanish / English) +
