Job Description

The primary focus of the Psychiatrist is to provide treatment plans and coordinate care for patients experiencing mental illnesses.

Details:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Adult psychiatric inpatient unit with 30 inpatient beds
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Seeking third psychiatrist to enable the expansion of Women's Health, Psychosomatic Medicine, and Palliative Care services
  • Utilize psycho-therapeutic interventions when appropriate
  • Provide thorough psychiatric evaluations
  • Majority of patients have medical conditions contributing to their psychiatric symptoms
  • Rotating schedule
  • Call is taken one week at a time with telephone-based call on weeknights
  • Inpatient rounding on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Average census: 12 patients
  • Average length of stay: 4 days
  • Average consults per month: 18 consults
  • Facility is experiencing an increasing number of requests for consultation services
  • Hospitalists do medical H & P's
  • Excellent team of nurses, social workers, and support staff
  • Dedicated hospital management team

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Valid and unrestricted California medical license
  • Fellowship trained in Psychiatry or Palliative Care preferred
