Psychiatry Residency Faculty Psychiatrist - Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, CA

We are seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist who has faculty experience as well as the skills and desire to work in a community hospital Psychiatry Residency Program. Successful candidate would participate in providing clinical services and teaching residents at Kaweah Delta Health Care District Medical Center. Faculty members participate in the training and teaching of residents and medical students, scholarly activity and adherence to the ACGME program requirements.

Kaweah Delta Health Care District is an eight-campus academic medical center in a community setting with six ACGME approved residency programs affiliated with UC Irvine. The Mental Health Hospital has 48 beds. The Psychiatry Residency Program recently earned continued accreditation with the ACGME and will be entering its 4th year with a full complement of 16 residents.

Location: Visalia, California (Located in the Central Valley, a few hours from popular coastal and mountain destinations as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco).

Scope of Practice: Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Consult Liaison and ED Assessment Services at Acute Hospital and Outpatient Clinic work.

In-Patient Care:

  • Evaluating patients during weekdays in an inpatient BHU and/or CL units
  • One weekend of rounding with residents per month

Consult Liaison/ED Assessment:

  • Training and Teaching Residents in the assessment and evaluation of patients in the main hospital med surg and emergency department.

Out-Patient, ED Assessment and CL:

  • Evaluating patients during weekdays in an outpatient setting
  • Training and Teaching Residents

Compensation for Full-Time Position:

  • Total compensation of $300,000 to $400,000 (depending on clinical caseload)

Desired Experience:

  • Psychiatry: 1 years
  • Academic: 1 year

Essential Credentialing Requirements:

  • California Medical License, DEA permit in CA Required
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
